Extended Life mounted desiccant dryer to eliminate moisture and contaminants at -40ºF dew point.

You can also purchase this desiccant air dryer separately to mount on your existing air compressor. The unit comes with the desiccant air dryer, a coalescing filter and mounting brackets. The 25 to 50 hp systems come standard with a PLC. This is a great alternative to purchasing a larger, more expensive desiccant air dryer. Cartridges should be replace every 2 years.

The CDD Series 15 to 30hp used the D series package which is a direct drive unit. Unit comes base or tank mounted with an optional enclosure.

SULLIVAN PALATEK NEW DESICCANT DRYERS:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Question: What is the dew point?

Answer: The dew point is -40° F.

Question: What is the purge factor?

Answer: A typical purge rate for these dryers is 6% to 9%.

Question: How do the canisters switch/purge?

Answer: Units not using a PLC have a 110 volt timer that switches from one canister to another in two minute intervals.

Question: What happens when the PLC is involved?

Answer: The PLC removes only off line dryer for 45 seconds when a series of dryers are manifold together leaving "X" amount of dryers on line. This design allows a dryer unit to cycle a single dryer (canister) through a series of dryers thus increasing scfm with less dryers whereas the single timer removes multiple dryers (canisters) when dryers manifold together.

Question: What kind of desiccant is used?

Answer: The desiccant is a molecular sieve manufactured by Union Carbide. It has a high crush strength in addition to a high surface area. This sieve works on a pressure swing principle with dryer performance increasing with higher operating system pressures. It operates with the sieve bed absorbing water under pressure. When depressurized (purged) the moisture is removed from the bed via a reverse flow of air (purge rate).

Question: Why aren’t filters needed or required with these dryers?

Answer: Inside the dryers are a series of internal filters within the cartridges. An optional patented internal oil separator filter system removes oil from compressed air and removes to .01 micron.

Question: How often do canisters need to be changed?

Answer: These new desiccant dryers typically require replacement after 18-24 months of service under normal operating conditions.

Question: How much do replacement canisters cost?

Answer: Each replacement canister lists for $300 and is considered a part when re-ordering.
